Laptop Screen Replacement
If your laptop screen is damaged, you don’t need to worry about writing off the whole laptop – the screen can be replaced with brand new parts and tested quickly and easily by our expert team of laptop repair technicians.
Do I need a laptop screen replacement?
You might need to replace the screen on your laptop if it is showing any of the following symptoms:
- Evidence of physical damage, such as dents or cracks in the surface of the screen. This may be easier to see by viewing the screen from various angles, and can commonly be caused by impacts to the screen itself, impacts to the lid of the laptop, dropping the laptop or closing the laptop whilst something (such as a pen or a memory stick) is still between the screen and the body of the laptop.
- A very dark or completely black display, despite the laptop appearing to turn on (look for status lights or listen for hard drive and fan operation inside the unit).
- Lines or patterns appearing on the screen whenever the laptop is turned on, regardless of the application being used.
- Flickering of the display, especially when the screen is touched or moved.
If your laptop has any of these problems, it is likely that the screen is damaged in some way. If this is the case you can bring the laptop in to us, we will inspect it to confirm the problem and then we can start with a screen replacement.
What is a screen replacement?
When your laptop is booked in for a screen replacement, our technician will partially disassemble the laptop to access the screen component.
Once the screen is removed, we will check the manufacturer’s markings on the back to make sure we get a perfect match. We keep a range of the most common screens in stock, but any non-standard or uncommon screens can be ordered in directly to our workshop on your behalf.
The new screen will be fitted in place of the old one and the laptop will be reassembled – you won’t even be able to tell it was ever worked on.
The laptop will be fully tested with the new screen.
